Joey, “I am thinking of all the time, effort and currency you have invested in this Celebration Service in Memory of your Grandparents; Santa Barbara, CA. Indeed, it is worth it! I praise God for you and your life of Service. At the same time I ask Him to keep you safe from harm and accidents as you go and come preparing for this event. May God hear my prayer!”

I was blessed to have Grandparents who served the Lord all the days of their lives! Not only seeing them preaching from the pulpit, but preaching in the Lompoc fields to the field workers with gifts and bags of food in their hands. As they lived with my parents watching them pray for hours everyday with a long list of prayer request in their hands. Listening to my grandma sing with her beautiful opera voice in church. Remembering when we lived at the American Baptist seminary and all of us got the flu, even my mom & dad and my grandparents moved in for 2 weeks to care for all of us. They had no fear of getting sick and they did not get it. My grandpa would stop anybody on the street and tell them about the love of Jesus. To this day, people come up to me and tell me that God used my grandpa to bring them to Jesus! What really touched my heart is they loved my husband Mark like their own grandson. I pray this web site touches people's heart for Jesus.
Thank you Joey for all your work!

Carlos y Lupita will always be in our hearts! They were both very close to me and Elizabeth. Such wonderful memories I have of the Gurrola Family in Mexico and the U.S.A. BLESSINGS to all who visit this website. What a wonderful idea to have this site in their memory and at the same time proclaiming the Word of God! May God Bless you and keep you, Amen.

When I was 4 years old, my Father passed away. When I married Matt, he went off to War, and I was left alone. However, Rev. Gurrola stepped in and made sure that I was taken care of. He was a Father figure to me! He was very good to me and a wonderful Christian person.

Words can not explain what I felt of what my Dad was to me. He was not just my Dad, but he was my Pastor, my mentor and my advisor. There are so many memories that are undescribable and right along with him was my Mother... so understanding and loveable to us kids. They were a great example of Christian life. His Ministry touched so many lives. As we sat around the table every Sunday after Church, and night just before bed time, we had a small devotion. "THANKS MOM & DAD!"

Rev. Gurrola hired me to paint "DIOS ES AMOR" inside of Primera Iglesia Bautista Mexicana de Lompoc. However, he told me that he would give me a personal check to be cashed only in HEAVEN! I gladly accepted the job.

I REMEMBER LOS HERMANOS GURROLA BECAUSE MY GRANDMOTHER AMPARITO VELDERRAIN USED TO TAKE ME TO THE CONVENTIONS AND WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION'S WITH HER. EVEN THOUGH I WAS A CHILD, I STILL REMEMBER THEM, AS WELL AS MOST OF THEIR FAMILY.
I STILL KEEP CONTACT WITH SOME OF THE FAMILY, AND THEY ALL ARE SERVING THE LORD. GOD BLESS THEM.

I sincerely hope this website speaks of the powerful lives of my Grandparents. It was an HONOR to create this website in their Memory. Grandpa Gurrola was like a father to me, and I will never forget him. He showed me how to be a good Christian person and to love the Lord. My sweet grandmother taught me all of the "coritos" to sing. How she would love to sing! And of course my dear Mother, Raquel Gurrola... such a patient and loving person. I think of Mom everyday of my life. "Thank you dear God for allowing me to be a part of the Gurrola Family."
